Police officers in La Vega arrested two of three Haitians who have been persecuted since January 30 in connection with the death of a farmer for whom they worked and whose body was buried on his farm located in the Piloto community, Guayubín, Montecristi province.

The detainees are Wesly Teófilo “Wily”, 25, and Belle Louis “Benye”, 28, who have no documents.

The undocumented Haitians are accused, together with the fugitive identified only as “Soso El Nuevo”, of killing the landowner Ángel Danilo Matías, 80, in circumstances that have not yet been clarified.
The police personnel of the Northwest Criminal Investigations Subdirectorate acted in response to the arrest warrant: No. 611-1-20221-SAUJ-00114, issued by a competent court.
The institution of order specified that as soon as the event was recorded, the police officers began an intense investigation and search until they located and apprehended the alleged perpetrators of the event.
The detainees will be brought to justice in the next few hours, via the Public Ministry, for a coercive measure to be known.
