Commissions of the Bolivarian National Guard dismantled a criminal group dedicated to fuel smuggling in the state of Barinas.
According to the agency’s report, GNB Zone Command No. 33 officials managed to arrest five citizens with 6,250 worth of diesel and gasoline in two procedures carried out in the Pedraza and Rojas municipalities.
G/B Alexander José Narváez, head of the CZ33, explained that members of the Rural Commando Detachment 33-1 at the Libertad Citizen Attention Post in the Rojas municipality, managed to dismantle the Structured Organized Crime Group “Los Tanqueros” with the capture of three men.
The subjects identified as: Oscar José Martínez, Melwin Alexander Ángulo Albornoz and Gaudis José Avendaño Galiano, transported 6,100 liters of diesel in a cargo vehicle, JAC brand, platform type, white color, A14CG9D plates distributed in different containers.
This trio of citizens were apprehended for the alleged illicit trafficking and trade of resources used in the country’s productive processes and were placed under the orders of the 14th Prosecutor’s Office of the Public Ministry in the llanera region.
In another event, military personnel detected a clandestine sale of fuel in sector II of the El Liceo neighborhood, between Carrera 3 and 4 of the Pedraza municipality.
At the site, they seized 150 liters of gasoline in 14 plastic containers and arrested two individuals who were at the scene.
