MIAMI, United States. — A man who robbed the Eusebio Hernández Pérez Hospital, better known as Maternidad Obrera (Havana), on February 4, was captured after returning to the place, according to the hospital. social networks.
The publication indicates that the alleged criminal was arrested “thanks to the joint effort of workers, patients and the Security and Protection Agency that guards the hospital, as well as the immediate actions of our National Revolutionary Police forces.”
The management of the Hospital specified that the arrest of the individual occurred because he returned to the facility again.
“This is an individual with a history of lousy social conduct, the perpetrator of numerous crimes including theft, who posed as a maintenance worker in order to access the interior of the room and steal belongings and cash, taking advantage of moments of carelessness of their victims”, adds the note.
The alleged criminal had previously robbed nearby centers such as the Juan Manuel Márquez Pediatric Hospital and the Ramón Pando Ferrer Ophthalmology Institute.
The information indicates that the detainee had also been responsible for various crimes of assault on health professionals in areas near those hospitals.
“The investigative process is carried out, together with the Prosecutor’s Office, with full adherence to the law in order to establish the evidence and present the corresponding documentation to the courts in the terms established by the Law,” the text points out.
Violence in Cuba has skyrocketed in recent weeks, with almost daily reports of assassinations, femicide, disappearances and armed robberies.
