They capture a subject with more than $800 thousand and firearms in Guabalá, Chiriquí

Through the “Alfil” operation, a 30-year-old citizen, resident in the province of Panama, was apprehended who was driving a pick-up at the Guabalá checkpoint in the district of Tolé, province of Chiriquí, which was transporting $835,000 in cash in different denominations, 5 pistols, chargers and ammunition, as confirmed by the judicial authorities on Friday.

The subject was apprehended when he was driving from Chiriquí to the province of Panama, when he passed the checkpoint he was nervous, which caught the attention of the uniformed men.

At the time of the inspection of the car where a double bottom was located in the car, 21 bales of cash in different denominations lined with transparent plastic and five pistol-type firearms, chargers and their respective ammunition were located.

The evidence and the apprehended citizen were placed at the orders of the authorities of the Public Ministry, who must present him in the next 24 hours before a guarantee judge, where the arrest must be legalized, charges filed and the precautionary measure established.
