A fact of violence shuddered the community of Itagüí, Antioquia. A street inhabitant was captured after allegedly taking his life from a citizen who refused to give him a coin.

According to the report of the Metropolitan Police of the Aburrá Valley, the attack occurred in the Villa Paula neighborhood, where the victim, a 19 -year -old, moved on foot through the sector. Witnesses indicated that, after refusing to deliver money, the aggressor attacked him with a sharp weapon in the neck and fled the place.
The rapid reaction of the authorities, supported by the security cameras of the area and in the information provided by the community, allowed to locate and capture the alleged murderer to a few blocks from the place of the facts.
The victim was urgently transferred to a health center, but died due to the seriousness of the wounds. It was identified as Esteban Yepes Palacio.
The captured was made available to the Prosecutor’s Office to respond for the crime of aggravated homicide. The authorities called for strengthening attention routes for the vulnerable population and preventing social problems from deriving acts of violence.
Neighbors of the sector expressed concern about the increase in similar episodes and requested greater surveillance and police presence, as well as inclusion and mental health programs that reduce the risk of new facts.
