The advisor to the Regional Government of Tumbes, Nick Rojas Prescott, was arrested during an operation led by specialized units of the National Police and the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
The action included entry to different properties linked to the investigation, including the headquarters of the Regional Directorate of Transport and Communications, where it is suspected that public contracts had been favored.
The proceedings were carried out in coordination with the specialized Preparatory Investigation Court, within the framework of an investigation into criminal organization and aggravated collusion.
During the operation, other people related to the case were also seized, as well as properties of officials who would have participated in directing works.
According to preliminary investigations, the alleged network would have operated through the creation of front companies used to obtain awards from the regional entity.
Rojas Prescott was captured at his home in an intervention carried out with the presence of the Public Ministry.
