Santo Domingo – Officials of the National Directorate for the Control of drugs (DNCD) and members of the Public Ministry, arrested a man who was wanted for his connection to the seizure of two shipments of 121 and 168 packets of cocaine and a rifle, in the province of Barahona.
The DNCD agents, following an arrest warrant issued by a court in that demarcation, arrested Juan Carlos Feliz Ferreras, aboard a vehicle, on Avenida 27 de Febrero and Winston Churchill, Distrito Nacional.
The detainee is designated as one of the leaders of the network from which 121 packages of cocaine were seized, on a boat on the shores of Ciénaga, Barahona province, on November 11, 2020.
In addition, Feliz Ferreras is linked to the seizure of another 168 packages of cocaine and an AR-15 rifle, caliber 5.56, seized through an operation on the Cacaos de Bahoruco hill in Barahona, on November 6, 2021.
“Juan Carlos Feliz Ferreras, who is designated as one of the alleged leaders of this drug trafficking structure that operates in the southern region of the country, is already in the hands of the Public Ministry of Barahona, to learn about coercive measures in the next few hours”
The arrest of the accused is part of the monitoring and persecution of those involved in drug trafficking and money laundering cases carried out by the Public Ministry and the DNCD.
