Edmundo González Urrutia confirmed on Saturday, January 4, from Buenos Aires, Argentina, that he will travel to the United States where he plans to meet with President Joe Biden.

“The agenda (in the United States) is still being defined, but it includes meetings with political leaders represented in Congress. We also have a conversation planned with President Joe Biden and we await definitions regarding the new authorities,” said González Urrutia when asked about an eventual meeting with Donald Trump, who will assume the Presidency on January 20.
Regarding whether he will be in Venezuela on January 10, González Urrutia limited himself to confirming that he will travel to the country to take office, without offering details, citing security reasons.
“Today, more than ever, I feel geographically and emotionally closer to fulfilling the mandate that Venezuelans gave us in the July elections,” González stated, indicating that January 10 will be a “date full of emotions.”
This trip is part of an international tour, in which he has already visited Argentina and Uruguay, as preliminary steps to reach Venezuela where he plans to assume power; based on the results that the Command with Venezuela manages and that would be accrediting him as the winner of the presidential elections, in the absence of the official results that the CNE does not publish.
