Five cars were set on fire this Thursday night inside the Aldosivi venue in Mar del Plata, a few hours after a new defeat suffered by the team, 2-0 against Godoy Cruz, for date 13 of the Professional Soccer League.

The incident occurred around 10 p.m., and three fire crews worked to put out the flames in the parking lot of the complex, located next to the forest reserve of the port of Maprata.

Firefighters sources told Télam that The fire reached five player vehicles and members of the squad, and was controlled around 11:00 p.m., with no injuries reported.

The club expressed around midnight its “Total repudiation of the acts of vandalism that occurred tonight at the sports venue,” through a brief statement.

“Violence is never the way. We will continue working and promoting the values ​​of respect, commitment and love for these colors,” the institution said.

Aldosivi fell 2-0 to Godoy Cruz in Mendoza, and added his ninth defeat in the tournament, in which he is penultimate, with 8 points, and still cannot get out of the direct relegation places to the First National.

Late that night, the head of Aprevide, Eduardo Aparicio, announced that Aldosivi will play his next home games behind closed doors, until tonight’s events are clarified.
