They burn more than two thousand kilograms of different drugs

SANTO DOMINGO.- The Attorney General’s Office reported that today it incinerated more than 2,000 kilograms of different narcotic drugs, most of it cocaine, this Thursday at the Dominican Republic Army compound, in the Pedro Brand municipality,

The National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif) certified that 2,021,246 kilograms corresponded to cocaine, with 99.21%, and 15,577 kilograms to marijuana, for 0.76%. Also, 352 grams to crack, with 0.0173%; to ecstasy 42 grams, which is equivalent to 0.0020%, and to hashish 37 grams, with 0.0018%.

Likewise, the burning included 247 grams of other substances, which, after rigorous analysis, were negative for drugs.

The drugs were seized by agents of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) and members of the Public Ministry who seized the narcotics with a total weight of 2,037,254 kilograms in different operations.

The operations where they were seized were carried out in different areas of the National District, Santo Domingo, San Pedro de Macorís, Peravia, Santiago, La Romana and La Vega, among other locations.

Representatives of the institutions in charge of combating drug trafficking participated in the incineration act.

As part of the strategies against drug trafficking in this first quarter of the year, a total of 16,164,063 kilograms of different drugs have been incinerated in the country, highlights the report of the forensic body.
