A man was arrested this morning after entering the residence of the president of the United States House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi. The incident occurred in San Francisco and her husband, Paul Pelosi, was violently attacked with a hammer.
Pelosi’s spokesman, Drew Hammill, confirmed the event in a statement and explained that the individual entered the residence and “violently” attacked Paul Pelosi, who was taken to the hospital for treatment and is expected to recover “fully”.
The president of the Chamber was not at home when the raid and attack on her 82-year-old husband took place, according to the statement cited by several media outlets.
“The President and her family are grateful for the rapid response of emergency services and health professionals and request privacy at this time,” Hammill’s statement concluded.
In August, Nancy Pelosi’s husband was convicted of drunk driving three months earlier, when he was involved in a traffic accident, an event for which he pleaded guilty in a California court.
