The victim, who was also a delegate of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) before the Central Electoral Board, died yesterday at the age of 55 from several shots fired by a childhood friend, Fausto Miguel de Jesús Cruz de la Mota, who is detained in the Palace of Justice in Ciudad Nueva, National District, awaiting coercion.

Pou urged public institutions to improve security systems, and that personnel in this regard must be prepared so that they know how to act at certain times, taking into account the preventive and dissuasive protocols of the circumstance.
“The issue of security is quite crucial, in the United States everyone who is arrested is handcuffed, here it depends: if he is a person who is reputed to be honorable, they do not put handcuffs on him. He stated that what is even more serious is that the murderer had the facility to leave the building and go to the Jesus Christ High Priest church, Real urbanization, near Luperón, in the capital, without major setbacks.
He insisted on the need to train the military and police who assume the security role, since most of the current ones lack the necessary knowledge for these tasks.
“The police and military are incorporated into these institutions without any training, the protocols have to work; a security works by reflexes, instinctively and consciously”, expressed Pou when consulted by El Nacional.

The security expert said he knew the assassinated official very well, whom he described as an exceptional person. “That was really, really, an embarrassing fact. I believe that Dominican society feels lacerated by this event, which should not have happened.”
As for the homicidal Cruz de la Mota, Pou described him as a despicable man, but he awaits what emerges in the investigation process, which in his opinion will be the most important thing.
“The guy acted with maco blood, you can say; he had all the steps calculated, and if maybe this was a big country he had escaped and his whereabouts are never found, ”he specified.
