They authorize the extradition of alias "el Gocho", linked to the murder of former lieutenant Ojeda

The Supreme Court of Colombia indicated that Luis Alfredo Carrillo, alias ‘el Gocho’, was required by the Chilean justice system for the “crimes of illicit association and kidnapping with homicide.” Chilean authorities link him to the murder of former Venezuelan lieutenant Ronald Ojeda

The Supreme Court of Justice of Colombia authorized the extradition to Chile of the Colombian-Venezuelan Luis Alfredo Carrillo Ortiz, involved in the kidnapping and subsequent murder of former Venezuelan lieutenant Ronald Ojeda, perpetrated in Santiago de Chile in February 2024.

Carrillo, who is supposedly a member of the Tren de Aragua gang, was arrested by the Police last February in the town of Chiscas, in the department of Boyacá, in central Colombia, in response to a red notice from Interpol.

In the decision published this Thursday the 23rd, the Supreme Court recalled that Carrillo – alias ‘el Gocho’ – was required by the Chilean justice system for the “crimes of illicit association and kidnapping with homicide.”

The evidence collected in the investigations indicates that Carrillo is supposedly “one of those responsible for at least three illicit detentions, migrant smuggling, human trafficking, sexual exploitation, extortion, sale of narcotics,” among other behaviors perpetrated by the Aragua Train in different sectors of Santiago, Chile.

In that sense, the Chilean authorities accuse him of being part of the armed group that, impersonating the Chilean authorities and with a false court order, entered a building in the Independencia commune, took Ojeda, “kept him in captivity and finally caused his death on February 21, 2024.”

The victim’s body was found nine days later, hidden inside a suitcase that had been abandoned in the Santa Marta camp, in the commune of Maipú.

After the approval of the Court, all that remains is for the Colombian president, Gustavo Petro, to confirm it. With this, the detainee will be handed over to the Chilean authorities.
