The general director of Edesur Dominicana, Milton Morrison, said this Thursday that the crisis of recent days in the electrical system is due to the departure of several plants from the generating companies and separated the electricity distributors Edesur, Edenorte and Edeeste of the blackouts current.
Morrison explained at the same time that the reasons for the outages of the generating plants are produced by different causes, which include maintenance and sargassum.
“The blackouts What is happening right now is not the fault of Edesur, Edeeste or Edenorte, nor of the Government, nor of the rise in fuel prices or the transmission companies. It is a generation deficit “he emphasized when interviewed on the program Matinal 5 of the Telemicro Group.
“The EDEs are instructed to give the maximum amount of energy they receive from the generating plants. What they receive, they supply to the maximum. But if they don’t receive it, they can’t distribute it,” he said.
When interviewed on the Matinal 5 program, he maintained that “what is produced in generation is the same as what is delivered to customers, the fact that one of the electricity generators leaves causes a situation that is noticeable in the country’s electricity system,” Milton Morrison said.
“What Edesur, Edeeste and Edenorte do is distribute what the generating companies produce. When several generating plants coincide outside the system, a deficit is produced,” he said.
At Edesur Dominicana we have been supplying the maximum energy supplied by the companies electricity generators. The current generation deficit problem does not have to do with the distributors, but with the generating companies, Morrison said.
Milton Morrison said that in the coming months the installation of 1,600 MW will begin, with private investment, without the State investing a penny so that the problem of the generation deficit can be solved in the Government of Luis Abinader.
“The problem of electricity generation will be resolved in the Government of Sarpresident Luis Abinader,” assured Milton Morrison.
The general director of Edesur, Milton Morrison, said that the country lasted eight years without planning to increase electricity generation.
