Authorities from the Caracas Mayor’s Office attend this Wednesday to the families of the La Constituyente building, in the San José parish, who were affected by the explosion of a gas cylinder. This was reported by the mayoress of the Libertador municipality, Carmen Melendez.
Through a message on his account on the social network Twitter, Meléndez specified that the security agencies and the Municipal Institute for Risk and Disaster Management of the Mayor’s Office are carrying out the investigations corresponding to the case.
«We began the day attending to the families of the La Constituyente building, in the San José parish, after the incident caused by a gas cylinder. The security agencies and the @ccs_imgrad carrying out the respective investigations”, published the Mayor.
Eviction of affected families
After the incident, and given the conditions in which the La Constituyente building was left, the authorities of the Mayor’s Office of Caracas considered it necessary to evict the families. In view of this, they decided to transfer them to the Caño Amarillo shelter, which was immediately activated.
“Due to the conditions in which the building was left, it has been necessary to evict the families and for this we activated the Caño Amarillo shelter. On behalf of our President @NicolasMadurowe are accompanying and coordinating the entire process,” the Mayor said on the social network.
Special attention to the wounded
Likewise, Meléndez stressed that immediately after the event occurred, four children and four adults who were injured were treated in a special way.
“We will not abandon these people who have been left vulnerable, especially the four children and four adults who were injured and who are already being properly cared for. Together with a deployed team, we will continue to follow up on the case,” said Meléndez.
