They assure that the opposition has the votes to repeal the card tax

They want to repeal the Buenos Aires tax on card purchases.

The Buenos Aires deputy of the Front of All (FdT) Juan Manuel Valdés ratified this Monday that next Thursday a special session of the Local legislature to repeal credit card tax and assured that the opposition has “30 of the 31 votes necessary for it to stop charging.”

It would be very important for JxC to reflect and lower the tax pressure in the district that it has governed for 15 years.

The opposition blocs in the Legislature had called a special session to eliminate the tax that the Government of Horacio Rodríguez Larreta applies to the use of credit cards from banks located in the city of Buenos Aires.

carried out the call for the Everyone’s Front (FdT), the Left Front (FIT), La Libertad Avanza (LLA) and Federal Consensus (CF).

Those same blocks formed the “Anti-Crane Front” to rescind the vehicle hauling concessions that they considered illegal.

On the agenda of the special session on October 13 at 10 a.m., five projects were included that propose to repeal the stamp tax on credit card statements, authored by deputies Juan Manuel Valdés (FdT), Amanda Martín (FIT) , Gabriel Solano (FIT), Rebeca Fleitas (LLA) and Eugenio Casielles (CF).

This tax is 1.2% of the consumption made with the cards of the banks of the City of Buenos Aires and is implemented by the local government since last year.

“Last week we heard them say in the Chamber of Deputies that they are against the gross income tax, while the district they govern charges the most expensive rate in the country,” said Valdés.

“Since 2007, when the PRO governs the city of Buenos Aires, the tax pressure of the people of Buenos Aires has increased by 53% and the main destination of the funds has been in Advertising and Propaganda”he added.

Valdés published today on Twitter that “on Thursday there will be a special session for us to repeal the tax on credit cards and we already have 30 of the 31 votes necessary to stop charging it.”

“It would be very important for JxC to reflect and lower the tax pressure in the district that it has governed for 15 years,” he emphasized.
