They assure that the municipalization of the RE is seen further with changes in the CNE

The municipalization of the RE will be even more torpedoed with the resignation of the two main rectors of the National Electoral Council (CNE) and their alternates. This was stated by Brenda Ribeiro, leader of the Primero Justicia party and promoter of the #HolaTúInscríbeteRE initiative, this Thursday, June 15

The municipalization of the Electoral Registry (RE) will be further torpedoed with the resignation of the two main rectors of the National Electoral Council (CNE) and their alternates. This is how he pointed it out Brenda Ribeiroleader of the Primero Justicia party and promoter of the #HolaTúInscríbeteRE initiative, this Thursday, June 15.

“It was already difficult to move forward with the vacancy due to the retirement of one of the rectors, now some principal rectors and substitutes resign, which will mean that there will be no quorum on the board of directors, accentuating the paralysis of the CNE,” he said.

In his opinion, it is incredible that in the face of the right of 3,000,000 people between the ages of 18 and 45 to register in the RE, “the rectors instead of advancing in municipalizing the process decide to resign and thus torpedo the CNE to fulfill its duty institution with citizens so that in 2024 they can exercise their vote,” Ribeiro said in a press release.

The leader, together with a group of young people from different parties, promotes a motivation campaign for registration in the Electoral Registry. They advocate the municipalization of the RE in the face of the 2024 presidential elections.

“They are afraid of the people, of their participation, they are afraid of opening the Electoral Registry in all corners because they know that the new registrants are potential votes for change, the new generations of the country want change and we want it with the exercise of our right to vote,” Ribeiro said Thursday.

He said that they will not abandon the defense of the RE and from there they will insist on the requirement of 1,500 registration points and updating of the registry. He called on citizens and young people to attend the Regional Electoral Offices (ORE) in the state capitals.

The first cut of the Electoral Registry (RE) of 2023, after eight months of delay, was published by the National Electoral Council (CNE) on June 5.

“After 8 months of silence, today, June 5, the CNE publishes in Electoral Gazette No. 1023, the 1st cut of the Electoral Registry of 2023 dated March, which reaches 21,010,514 voters. The decrease in the number of voters is maintained, as in the six previous cuts 2021-2022,” reported Súmate.
