“There is a new curriculum approved, there are new textbooks, the polytechnics are being equipped, we have a new evaluation system approved, there is a code of ethics and laboratories are being purchased,” said the government official.
Likewise, he assured that “we have a code of coexistence so that there is peace in schools and the investment in teacher training has been doubled.”
He added that “those are the foundations of what education could be in the next 10 years.”

The official spoke after participating in a meeting with executives of the National Council of Private Enterprise (Conep), in his office.
During the meeting, Hernández offered business executives details about the advances in Dominican education, as well as the policies promoted by President Luis Abinader.

Horizon 2034
The Minister of Education referred to the Horizon 2034 Education Plan, recently released by that agency and assured that this initiative contemplates ensuring that the entire population has access to pre-university education within a period of 10 years, regardless of their place of residence or socioeconomic condition.
“The Horizon 2034 Education Plan proposes to provide inclusive, equitable and quality education, which ensures access, progression and timely completion of pre-university education and the achievement of relevant and significant learning,” said Hernández.
“We take on the challenge of ensuring that students have continuous support to advance without interruptions in their educational path,” he said.
