What did Gustavo Petro say about the Peruvian National Police?

As President of Colombia, he referred to the political and social crisis that our country is going through and, after denouncing the role of the Colombian State against leftist groups and comparing it with Nazi Germany, he made the same analogy to refer to the Peruvian police authorities.

“In Peru they march like Nazis, against their own people, breaking the American Convention on Human Rights,” he said in a speech during the possession of the Colombian ambassadors.

Although Petro did not specify if he was referring to the actions of the PNP, it must be remembered that last Thursday, on a day of marches in downtown Lima, hundreds of police officers marched along the Paseo de los Héroes Navales.
