NEW YORK.- Dozens of supporters of Alianza País (AlPaís) mobilized in Upper Manhattan in this city demanding from the Dominican government reductions in taxes on air tickets, consular documents and to eliminate the $50 dollars that are charged as tax to our children after spending 30 days in the DR.
“Let’s go for more,” said Luis Mayobanex Rodríguez; “Because President Luis Abinader promised to cut down the 82 dollars of taxes that we pay when buying an air ticket.”
He stated that AlPaís has been insisting for years that the prices of consular documents (passports, powers of attorney, translations, citizenship) be lowered, and it is time, due to the economic crisis in the US, given that inflation in US territory is the highest in the last 40 years.

“For AlPaís it is an elementary reason to defend a community that makes extraordinary contributions to the country and the governments do nothing to protect them and cover their rights.”
He expressed his joy for what he considers a victory for not paying the $10 dollars to the Dominicans who enter the DR, a fight that kept the party going for several years, he said.
Likewise, he added that given the unconstitutional nature of decree 430-17, promulgated by Danilo Medina, in 2017, entered into force in 2018, “the question is worthwhile: what is the final destination of the almost $45 million dollars collected by the State during the last 4 years for the Tourist Card?
The aliancistas were directed and commanded by the Mayobanex Rodríguez, carrying posters alluding to the sales and launching slogans.
The activity took place recently on Saint Nicholas Avenue and 181st Street, in Upper Manhattan.
