The Attorney General’s Office of Colombia received the request for an investigation into several terrorist plans that seek to “capture or kill” President Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela.
The information was revealed by the Colombian media RTVC Noticias, which detailed the access it had from a first source to a 19-page document that requests the investigation of the Colombian attorney general, Luz Adriana Camargo, into these plans promoted since 2019.
In the document they point out that these plans against the head of state were intended to be executed from Colombian territory, specifically in La Guajira.
“I am writing to you in order to file a complaint for the alleged crime of ‘Financing of Terrorism and Organized Crime Groups and Administration of Resources Related to Terrorist Activities of Organized Crime’,” reads the request made by a Colombian citizen to whom your identity is protected.
In the document they ask to determine in the course of the investigation the participation of the American mercenary Erik Dean Prince as well as pointing out Juan Guaidó, who proclaimed himself president of Venezuela in 2019 and led negotiations with the company Silvercorp USA, represented by Jordan Goudreau. The purpose was to execute the failed “Operation Gedeón” from Colombia and under the Government of Iván Duque.
It also reveals that the United States Department of Justice knew of the plans that had been being prepared since that year, despite the fact that it involved the formation of a criminal group that was going to be trained in Colombia and was going to obtain weapons and ammunition. All without prior authorization from the Colombian authorities.
The document also assures that there were agreements with “the acquisition of war material and even non-legal ammunition to attack civilians” who could be considered rebels.
Likewise, the document alludes to Juan Guaidó’s alleged links with paramilitary groups in Colombia, which supposedly helped him illegally cross the border during the so-called “Venezuela Aid Life.” Likewise, they point out the financing of the “Almost Venezuela” movement that would be collecting funds against President Maduro.
