The Social Independent Alternative Party (PAIS), filed this morning a criminal complaint against the magistrates of the Electoral Court (TE) Heriberto Araúz and Alfredo Juncá, for issuing the ruling that maintained the criminal electoral jurisdiction of former President Ricardo Martinelli.
The president of PAIS, José Alberto Álvarez, said that they filed this criminal complaint because the magistrates exceeded the constitutional and legal limits when issuing this sentence. Therefore, they request that these magistrates be removed from office while they are investigated.
“What we ask the prosecutor is to accept the complaint and send it to the Supreme Court of Justice, so that they, based on the powers they have, can remove them from their position while the investigations last,” he said, assuring that They will present seven conclusive evidence that the magistrates exceeded their functions and abused their authority.

For his part, the vice president of PAIS, Raúl Ricardo Rodríguez, stated that all Panamanians should join, out of civic duty, in this type of complaint, since in their actions these officials are violating the Law.
