Analysts see that Fernández’s management is marred by various conflicts, like the issue of the blockage in the landfill during the strike and now with the situation of the morning merchants, who are led by René Troncoso, a supporter of the MAS.

On Christmas Eve, the city is filling up with street vendors and the municipal gendarmes fail to impose order. The authority has not ruled on this either.

Added to this are criminal complaints against him. Yesterday, councilman Federico Morón arrived at the Prosecutor’s Office to file a lawsuit against Mayor Fernández for allowing the encroachment of the private property Kimin the aquifer zone of Lomas de Arena.

The analyst Paul Antonio Coca sees that the issue of the census and the rejection of indefinite unemployment made the population link him with the MAS and the Government of Luis Arce. The lawyer considered that at this point the most acid criticism against the burgomaster began.

“Although they are not allies (Fernández and the MAS), the population already sees them that way. It is not the best for the MAS itself, since UCS is a neoliberal party and in the ruling party they criticize that. There is discomfort in the population of Santa Cruz because there are no answers to many issues, one of them is the QR case. This inconvenience was also seen in the case of the landfill, since the Mayor’s Office came in late to try to resolve the issue,” said Coca.
