In the face of complaints, RCN Mundo spoke with the leader of the Inpec unionOscar Robayo, who assured that it is necessary to carry out an in-depth investigation to determine if the guards are responsible for the irregularities that could have occurred within the framework of the celebration.
Facing the facts, Robayo clarified that the presence of musical groups is commonin the days of celebration of the Virgen de las Mercedes, a religious image venerated by the inmates in the different prisons of the country.
“What is not right and that should be investigated is the entry of intoxicating drinks, cigarettes and other elements that were recorded on the videos,” said the union leader and assured that particularly “in prison La Picota needs a real penitentiary administration, This has been administered by retired Police officers who have not been able to adequately manage this center.”
Added to it, the union spokesman asked that the competent authorities investigate the facts and that the Inpec carry out a disciplinary investigation to determine responsibilities within the Penitentiary Institute.
“It is urgent that optimal contracts be given, by the prison services unit, to have the necessary control elements that prevent a recurrence of this type of situation, that electronic surveillance means such as cameras, sensors, television circuits and all those elements,” said the spokesman while assuring that administrative and disciplinary measures are expected to be taken and that the necessary sanctions be given in light of the reported facts.
