The community of Landázuri, Santander, is shocked after the tragic murder of Liyen Cubides, a 16-year-old minor, allegedly at the hands of her stepfather, Elver Pineda.

The teenager, identified by the name of Liyen Cubides, lost her life after an armed attack allegedly perpetrated by her stepfather, Elver Pineda. Authorities are currently searching for the suspect.
The fatality occurred in the El Jardín neighborhood, where several neighbors alerted to the sound of a gunshot coming from the family home, which houses two adults and three children. Upon arriving at the scene, they found the heartbreaking scene of the minor’s murder.
According to reports from Blu Radio, Liyen had in the past denounced her stepfather for sexual abuse, which adds a dark context to this unfortunate event.

The mayor of Landázuri, Carlos Andrés Morales Quiroga, expressed his deep rejection of this act of violence, urging the community to report any incident of domestic violence that could threaten the safety of others.
«It is crucial that we do not take justice into our own hands. We need to locate the minor’s alleged murderer. If anyone has information about his whereabouts, please contact the authorities,” declared the local leader.
