They ask for help to repatriate the body of a three-year-old Nicaraguan boy who died in the Rio Grande

The family of a three-year-old Nicaraguan boy who died while trying to cross the border between Mexico and the United States, along with his mother, uncle and two-month-old brother; they are requesting financial assistance to repatriate the minor’s body.

The little boy died on August 22 and his family needs between eight and 10 thousand dollars to repatriate the boy’s remains to Nicaragua, but they have not managed to raise enough money and do the necessary paperwork for him to be buried in his country of origin.

The three-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene, while his months-old brother was taken to a hospital in San Antonio, Texas, along with his mother and uncle who did manage to cross the river to the United States.

Noel Antonio Oviedo, father of the deceased minor, told Article 66on the NOW podcast, that the “coyote”, that is, the human trafficker, lied to the Nicaraguan family because they promised that they would cross in a boat, but in the end they had to cross on foot and the water level ended with the child’s life.

Oviedo affirmed that the idea of ​​traveling to the United States was to improve his family’s situation because the crisis in Nicaragua has worsened in recent years. He traveled six months ago and his relatives tried to cross the river at the end of last month.

He stated that with a job offer in his profession, which is an air conditioning technician, he traveled irregularly to the United States, started working, saved five thousand dollars and decided to take his two children and his wife, but the trip was overshadowed by the tragedy.
