CDMX, Mèxico.-The 14-year-old Cuban adolescent, Salet María Berovides Moisés, is disappeared in Santiago de Cuba, the opposition member Ana Belkis Ferrer García, sister of political prisoner José Daniel Ferrer, denounced this Friday.
The girl is the daughter of Ana Milagros Moisés Goicochea, activist of the Patriotic Union of Cuba (UNPACU) and promoter of Cuba Decide.
“The 14-year-old adolescent has a personality disorder, yesterday (Thursday) she left school and has not yet returned home,” wrote Ana Belkis.
The opponent also denounced that Moisés, the girl’s mother, asked the police for help and they were not willing to start the searches. “The only answer they have received is that the father must go out and look for her and take her to the juvenile center.” Ferrer explained.
Instead of starting search operations immediately, since it was a minor, the authorities took it upon themselves to threaten the girl’s father with arresting him if he did not find her. “According to the head of minors, he signed a document committing that his daughter would not leave the house again,” denounced Ana Belkis in Facebook.
Until the time of writing this note, the girl is not with her family, so they request that if anyone has any information, call 55135653.
This is not the first time that relatives have denounced the lengthy actions of law enforcement to search for missing adolescents.
Maydeleisis Rosales Rodriguez, 16 years old and a neighbor of the Centro Habana municipality, is disappeared since May 2021. Her mother Isis Rodríguez has questioned the actions of the police and the low priority they have given her daughter’s case.
Just last month, the Cuban Ministry of the Interior (MININT) confirmed the death of the teenager Darío Leyva Acosta.
Leyva Acosta, 14, was found lifeless, after days reported missing. The minor was a student at the Mártires de Maniabón secondary school, in the city of Puerto Padre, Las Tunas province. According to him, he was murdered to steal his phone.
