The trial for the crime of María Marta García Belsunce, murdered 20 years ago in the Carmel de Pilar country, will continue this Monday with the allegations of the prosecution, the complaint and the defenses.

According to the schedule provided by the Oral Criminal Court (TOC) 4 of San Isidro, the idea of the judges is that all the arguments take place during this day, which will be broadcast live on the YouTube channel of the Buenos Aires Supreme Court.

The neighbor Nicolás Pachelo and the former security guards Norberto Glennon and José Ortiz face an accusation as co-authors of an “aggravated robbery by the use of a weapon in a real competition with aggravated criminis causa homicide” to the detriment of María Marta, crimes that carry life imprisonment.

The trial that takes place in the courts of San Isidro, located at 340 Ituzaingó street in that district in the north of the suburbs, began on July 13 last and has consumed 36 hearings so far (five of them for the robberies of other countries), during which dozens of witnesses paraded, among them the widower Carlos Carrascosa, relatives of the victim, the police officers who investigated the case, residents of Carmel and experts, among others.

The arguments will begin at 10:30 a.m. and the prosecutors who carried out the accusation in this third trial for the case are expected to present the first: Patricio Ferrari, Andrés Quintana and Federico González.

Then, the lawyer Gustavo Hechem, who represents the widower Carlos Carrascosa as a private victim, will plead, and finally Pachelo’s defense, made up of his historic lawyer Roberto Ribas, together with Marcelo Rodríguez Jordán and Raquel Pérez Iglesias, and each of the security guards. .

For the prosecution, on October 27, 2002, María Marta arrived home unexpectedly and upon discovering that they were stealing, she confronted the thieves and ended up murdered. six bullets to the head.

According to this hypothesis, robbery was the motive for the crime. and it is proven by the lack of a metal chest from the “Amigos del Pilar” charity association where the victim was treasurer and which she kept in her house in Carmel with money, three checkbooks and the key to a safe deposit box.

Pachelo is the only one of the three defendants who arrived at the imprisoned oral trial -He is housed in Unit 9 of La Plata-, but not for the crime of María Marta in which in 2017 he was charged and questioned in freedom, but for the robberies for which he was arrested in 2018.
