The Ministry of Health through the National Directorate of Pharmacy and Drugs reiterates the availability of the digital tool MedicApp that emerges as a strategy of the National Drug Policy
Said Elvia Lau director of pharmacy and drugs of the ministry.
Lau indicated that the tool works by making visible to patient-users the location and price of the medications they require, their availability and proximity in relation to their home location or where they are within a range of 5 kilometers and more.
Lau also said that the digital tool MedicApp integrates the drug supply system of the Social Security Fund of the Metropolitan area, for which they will have visibility of the existence of the drug in the executing units of that public institution.
“I call on doctors to prescribe with the generic name of the drug, so that the patient can more easily search for his drug,” Lau concluded.
The Ministry of Health informs that you can download the App on your cell phone and specifically place the name of the medication to see the location of the medication.
Pharmacies must keep the inventory of their medicines updated in MedicApp with their respective prices and their opening hours to the public, according to a statement dated July 6 by the National Directorate of Pharmacy and Drugs.
