They ask Biden to recognize Cuban mass organizations as terrorists

Asamblea de la Resistencia Cubana, Orlando Gutiérrez Boronat deuda Cuba Club de París

Havana Cuba. – This February 21, during a press conference, the Assembly of the Cuban Resistance (ARC) issued a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, in which he requests the Biden administration to include various mass organizations controlled by the Cuban dictatorship on the list of entities sponsoring terrorism.

Among the Castroist organizations that should be added to the list are the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) and the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC).

The ARC’s request is based on the open and sustained participation of such entities in repressive actions and violations of human rights against the Cuban people, especially since the social outbreak of July 11, 2021.

The Assembly assures in its letter that the regime would have used representatives of these state organizations as false witnesses during the trials carried out on hundreds of peaceful protesters, in addition to collaborating with the Rapid Action and Response Brigades (paramilitary groups loyal to power) to identify and subdue the participants in the popular protests.

Among the leaders of these mass organizations, the ARC pointed out Gerardo Hernandez Nordelo and Fernando Gonzalez Llorttwo of the five Cuban agents who were convicted in the United States for espionage in the 1990s, and released during the second term of Barack Obama.

Likewise, the Assembly of the Cuban Resistance expressed its concern about the increasingly close alliance of Castroism with Vladimir Putin, and the potential threat that this implies for the region.

The ARC announced that its National Convention will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora. There, a National Salvation Plan drawn up by human rights organizations inside and outside the Island will be made public. The event will have the presence of political leaders from Latin America, the United States and Europe to support Cuban civil society.
