Military agents detained two former police officials who were transporting the sum of 4,173 cartridges of different calibers, according to military sources.
The procedure was carried out at the Citizen Service Point located in Playa Pintada, on the border of Miranda and Anzoátegui. At that site, a Ford Fiesta vehicle with MEV21V plates was subjected to inspection by the military, in whose doors and spare tire were hidden the batch of cartridges classified as follows: 3,662 5.56 mm caliber cartridges and 511 9 mm caliber cartridges, according to a report from the Detachment. 444 of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB).
After detecting the shipment of cartridges, the military proceeded to arrest the two occupants of the vehicle, the brothers Roberto Antonio Arias Brito, former GNB official, and Adrián Arturo Arias Brito, former agent of the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (Dgcim).
Two 9 mm pistols (PGP and Pietro Beretta) and two pistol magazines were also seized from the Arias Brito brothers. The former officials came from Cumaná, Sucre state.
The Arias Blancos were handed over to the Public Ministry, where a file was opened against them for illegal possession of a firearm and illegal possession of war material.
On November 23, the Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, revealed a new conspiracy aimed at the overthrow of President Nicolás Maduro. During his presentation, Cabello revealed the participation of justice system operators, businessmen, politicians and the military in the aforementioned plan.
The minister explained that the epicenter of this conspiracy was located in the state of Zulia, where they seized a batch of firearms, ammunition and explosive devices.
More weapons. In another procedure, the military detained Antonio Peragine Alaña on the main avenue of Palito Blanco, Maracaibo municipality (Zulia), who was denounced for the crime of extortion.
They confiscated a Lorcin L32 pistol, .32 caliber, from the man; seven unfired cartridges; a Covavenca shotgun, 12 gauge; a telephone equipment and a Renault Logan license plate VDA32T, according to a report from the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command (Conas) No. 11.
Apparently, Peragine Alaña demanded a large sum in dollars from his victim in exchange for not attacking his physical integrity, the Conas report says.
In the Agua Clara sector, Maturín municipality (Monagas), the military detained a .38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver that Moisés Emmanuel Marín García was carrying at the time, who was detained, according to a report from Detachment 511 of the GNB.
And in the Altamirano sector of the Cacique Manaure municipality (Yaracal), Falcón, GNB officials seized a 16-gauge shotgun, with no visible mark or serial number, transported by Ramón García, who was detained.
In Bejuma (Carabobo), Rosalio Jesús Moreno López was arrested and a 12-gauge shotgun was seized from him, according to a report from the military.
