Three subjects were detained in different procedures after it was detected that they were transporting portions of cocaine under the presentation of panelas, according to reports collected.
One of the procedures was carried out at the Citizen Service Point located in Mucurubá (Mérida). At that checkpoint, a Ford Explorer license plate AB342US was searched where four panels of cocaine were located, according to a report from Detachment 221 of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB).
The panels were hidden in a double bottom of the front transmission of the aforementioned vehicle and added a weight of 4 kilos 260 grams.
In that operation, the occupants of the vehicle were detained: Betsy Macarena Quintero Dugarte and Luis Gerardo Peña Ángulo, who came from the Osuna Rodríguez parish, Mérida state, bound for Caracas.
And another procedure was carried out at the Citizen Service Point located in Punta de Piedra, Santa Bárbara de Barinas, where the military seized 2 kilos and 200 grams of cocaine distributed in two panels, according to a report from Detachment 332 of the GNB.
This drug was transported in a hidden compartment of an Empire Horse motorcycle plate AROV78A driven by Marco Julio Pabón Daza, who was detained.
Quintero, Peña and Pabón were handed over to the Public Ministry for criminal prosecution.
