Eight Yaracuy police officers were arrested for allegedly being involved in extortion and unlawful deprivation of liberty, according to military sources.
The arrest of the eight officials was carried out by agents of the National Anti-extortion and Kidnapping Command (Conas) in the central command of Poliyaracuy located in San Felipe, following an order issued by Juanimar Gutiérrez Cordero, judge of the 5th Court of Control of Yaracuy.
The officials are allegedly involved in the crime of aggravated extortion, among others, according to an investigation by Conas and the 14th Prosecutor of the Public Ministry.
The captured soldiers are: José Gregorio Graterol Mora (49), Henddy Joises Hernández Perozo (43), Miguel Ángel Ramírez (43), Edwur José Arriechi Sandoval (37), Deibis Alfonso Moreno Travieso (34), Marialis Lorena Flores Ramos (29 ), Eduis Ramón Linares Hernández (39) and Yubisay Yosmari Figueroa Torrealba (28).
The hearing for the presentation of the eight detainees before the 5th Control Court of Yaracuy where they will be charged is scheduled for this Monday.
