Agents assigned to Detachment 533 of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) detained Yoerlis del Carmen Luna Cedeño, allegedly in possession of war material, according to military sources.
The woman was detained in the La Concepción sector, Mariño municipality (Irapa), Sucre state, where there was a confrontation with members of the Tren de Mariño criminal organization, who fled.
At the end of the fight, the soldiers captured Yoerlis and seized an AK-103 magazine containing 38 7.62x51mm caliber cartridges and a Light Automatic Rifle magazine with 17 7.62x39mm caliber cartridges.
The Tren de Mariño is a criminal organization dedicated to committing extortion against fishermen in the region, its leaders were captured by Colombian drug trafficking groups to traffic drug caches, according to investigations. This explains the supply of weapons they have to guard and protect the shipments.
