An inactive soldier was arrested in San José de Guanipa (Anzoátegui) for his alleged connection to a criminal organization dedicated to the theft of high-end vehicles, according to police sources.
The detainee was registered as Mario Ángel Río Rivero (54), for whom they obtained a card issued by the Ministry of Defense that accredits him with the hierarchy of Sergeant Supervisor, attached to the Bolivarian National Guard.
This subject is related to eight open files in Monagas and three in Anzoátegui for vehicle theft, according to information collected by the Cicpc agents, who executed the procedure.
Río presented an arrest warrant from the 3rd Court of Control of Anzoátegui for cooperating with the crime of aggravated robbery and association to commit a crime, according to the ticket issued by Judge Vanessa Giménez.
Mario Ángel was the person in charge of moving the stolen vehicles to Tumeremo and Santa Elena de Uairén (Bolívar) from where they were taken to Brazil for sale, the source explained.
The bulk of the criminal organization is dismantled, which includes the arrest of another soldier and two civilians, who organized the logistics for the commission of criminal acts.
The three subjects who stole the high-end cars were killed in different procedures.
