Nine members of gangs dedicated to extortion and kidnapping were arrested in Zulia during the last hours, according to reports from the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB)
In total, they seized three firearms, two explosive devices, 53 cartridges of various calibers, 6 cars and 2 motorcycles.
One of the procedures was carried out on Libertador Avenue in Maracaibo, where they arrested Miguel Andrés Rincón Barboza, William Javier Barboza Villasmil and Julio Cesar Leal Navea, who were in charge of providing information on the victims, making extortion calls and terrorist attacks under the direction of the El Yiyi criminal group.
The aforementioned criminal organization, founded by Guillermo Rafael Osman Bravo (El Yiyi), is a specialist in “extortion and terrorist acts, using an international telephone subscriber and the Instagram social network to threaten merchants by requesting foreign currency payment. in exchange for not making an attempt on their lives”, reads a military intelligence report verbatim.
Three vehicles were seized from these subjects: Ford Fusion, license plate AG772CM, Ford Super Duty truck, license plate A73CO4G and Mitsubishi Signo, license plate AEP85T. In addition, the men possessed a fragmentary grenade, Comp brand, with its fuze in good condition, which was seized from them.
In the La Batea sector of Maracaibo, members of the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command (Conas) carried out two procedures. In one of them, a member of the criminal organization founded by Yeferson José Nava Jiménez (Yet Nava) was killed.
The procedure was carried out in a place from where several members of the Yet Nava gang made extortion calls to numerous victims.
The victim was identified as Nerio Hernández González, who confronted the military with a Browning (PGP) pistol, serial 245PM52119, caliber 9mm, requested since 08-25-2003 from the Cicpc-Barquisimeto, Lara, for the crime of generic theft. .
In that same sector of the capital of Zulia, Conas agents arrested three other members of the band Yet Nava registered as David Enrique Chaparro Castro, Pedro Luís Chaparro Castro and Aníbal José Montoya Castro.
These subjects were denounced by a victim of extortion from whom they demanded a large sum in dollars so as not to attempt on his life.
A .38 caliber revolver, forty-five 5.56x45mm caliber cartridges, a tear gas device, two vehicles (Daihatsu Applause, plate YDZ429, Fiat Marea, plate ABM52U) and a Fym 150 motorcycle, plates AB2S90V were seized from the trio.
And in the Los Dulces sector, San Francisco municipality, officials assigned to the Rural Command Detachment 11-5 of the GNB captured three members of the El Guaro gang, identified as Javier Francisco Guanipa Carvajal (El Gordo), Antonio Ramón Villalobos Ruíz ( Antonito) and Romy Alexandrinis Palmar Palmar (El Keke).
These individuals possessed a 20-gauge sawed-off shotgun, two cartridges of the same caliber, a facsimile and two motorcycles (MD Águila 150, license plate AE1E18V, Empire Horse, no license plate).
The detainees were handed over to the Public Ministry.
