The Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) arrested 26 members of criminal organizations and seized 409 cartridges of various calibers, among other war materials, according to military reports.
Among those arrested are eight members of the Los Lancheros criminal group, who were captured in the Curva Colón sector, La Conquista peasant settlement, Colón municipality (San Carlos del Zulia), in response to investigation order No. MP-208075-2022, by the crime of aggravated robbery, among others.
These subjects seized a Carbine-type assault rifle, model M4 with three chargers, two radio transmitters, a camouflaged tactical vest, 136 5.56×45mm caliber cartridges and a multipurpose knife.
The detainees are: José Ángel Hernández Nava, Marco Antonio Urdaneta Urdaneta, Ángel David Soto Fernández, Leonardo de Jesús Brito Pacheco, Reinaldo Alfonso Marqués Escándela, Ubaldo David Alborno Lujano, Keider Gregorio Urdaneta Pacheco and Leomar Junior Brito.
Also in Zulia, but in Machiques de Perijá, they caught two members of the El Guajiro Menor group: Eliezer José Báez Olivella and Arnoldo José Navarro Petit. These subjects carried a 12-gauge Mossberg shotgun.
And in the Punta de Piedra checkpoint, Miranda municipality (Los Puertos de Altagracia), Zulia, they caught Alexander José Vera Medina, who was traveling in a public transport unit carrying with him eight .38-caliber cartridges and fifteen 7.65-caliber cartridges destined for to rifles.
In Cumaná (Sucre) there were four detainees, who belong to the David Piloto criminal group and seized 20 cartridges and two firearms, according to the report.
In Bolívar state, they caught six collaborators of irregular groups. They seized 110 cartridges, an AR-15 rifle magazine.
The detainees will be prosecuted for possession of war material, among other crimes.
