In the United States, the man who was driving the truck that ran over dozens of people in a Christmas parade was arrested, leaving five dead. Among the injured are 12 children.
Darrell Brooks, 36, was arrested in the last hours in connection with the tragic incident in Waukesha, Wisconsin, in the northern United States. A man with numerous criminal records, among which are the illegal possession of weapons and drugs.
According to the authorities, the man was fleeing a crime scene when he deliberately entered the main street in the city center where the Christmas parade was taking place, and rammed the participants, leaving five people dead so far and more than 40 injuries, including 12 minor ones.

Witnesses describe the panic and bewilderment they experienced at that time, “I saw the red truck go by at full speed, almost 50 kilometers per hour, and I saw how people flew through the skies as the vehicle moved forward,” said a woman who participated in the parade.
Hundreds of people assisted the injured as ambulances arrived, and many family members screamed for their loved ones amid the chaos. More than 70,000 people attended the parade, which was returning after being canceled last year due to the pandemic.
White House spokeswoman Jen Pskai assured that President Joe Biden was notified of the events and is working with local authorities to clarify the motives for this attack and assist the victims.
