In a message to the media, Ulises Lara, spokesman for the capital’s prosecutor’s office, reported that after various intelligence and monitoring tasks, José Gabriel “N” was located and detained in the vicinity of Anillo Periférico, in the Cantil del Pedregal neighborhood, in Coyoacán .
According to the investigations, José Gabriel “N”, alias “El Perro”, was for several years one of the leaders of La Unión Tepito and a trusted collaborator of Roberto “N”, alias “El Betito”, imprisoned since 2018.

“During the arrest of José Gabriel “N”, the investigating agents assured possible cocaine distributed in a plastic bag and in approximately 451 packages; about 77 doses with what could be marijuana; a short firearm, stocked charger and useful 9-millimeter caliber cartridges, as well as a high-end vehicle, and identifications, the data of which does not correspond to the detained person, but does to the photograph,” said the official.
According to Ulises Lara, the man now detained is related to the violent dispossession of real estate, distribution and commercialization of narcotics, illegal deprivation of liberty, as well as extortion of merchants who are in the Tepito area and the first square of the capital.
He was also in charge of paying members of La Unión de Tepito, the illegal sale of vehicles obtained through extortion and charging people dedicated to robbing passers-by and allowing pickpockets to operate in various areas.
“In addition, it could be related to previous investigations initiated for kidnapping or plagiarism, homicide and crimes against public officials, all as defendants,” he said.
