The National Police arrested this Friday sheriff linked to murder of witness of one case, in an event that occurred in front of the Palace of Justice of San Francisco de Macorís, in the Duarte province.
The detainee is Antonio Yhosue Morel Artilesalias “Yoshue the Balbú”who serves as a bench official in the Court of Appeals of the Judicial Department of that municipality.
His arrest occurred during a raid on his home, carried out by police officers and representatives of the Public Ministry, for his alleged participation in the death of the young man. Luis Gustavo Grullón De Aza (Nini)23 years old.
According to sources linked to the caseAza Grullon was preparing to declare witness in a judicial process related to an inmate at the Najayo Hombres Penitentiary Center, in San Cristóbal.
With this arrest, they add three arrested for his involvement in the crime, according to the judicial entity.
Last week, the defendants Ricky Alberto Hernandezalias “The Gold”and Winder Jaimenicknamed “Distrust”they were imposed three months of preventive detention as a precautionary measure.
The arrest of Morel Artiles was carried out by virtue of court order No. 601-01-2025, issued by the judge Josefina Noemí Díaz Martefrom the Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of the Judicial District of Duarte. The accused will be presented in the next few hours before the court to determine the measure of coercion.
Background of the case
The incident occurred last morning August 26when the young Luis Gustavo Grullón De Aza was shot dead in front of the Palace of Justice. The victim died from multiple gunshot wounds, mainly in the right cranial region, with an occipital exit.
According to the Public Ministry, those involved are being prosecuted for association of criminals and murderin accordance with the provisional legal classification that includes the alleged violation of the articles 59, 60, 265, 295, 296, 297, 298 and 304 of the Dominican Penal Code.
The case remains under investigation.
