SANTO DOMINGO.- The Banco Popular Dominicano reported that this Thursday around noon an incident occurred at its branch in the city of Higüey, when an unarmed individual entered the establishment expressing his intention to commit a robbery.
The banking entity indicated that thanks to the quick and effective intervention of security personnel and the immediate application of the established protocols, the situation was controlled without any personal or material damage. “No client or collaborator was affected during the incident.”
Police officers immediately responded to the scene and arrested the individual, who was taken into custody. Authorities later confirmed that the subject was not carrying any type of weapon.
