Santo Domingo Norte.– The National Police, in coordination with the Public Ministry, arrested a man identified as José Manuel Zarzuela Lópezalias “Basura”, 31 years old, identified as the alleged perpetrator of the death of a woman after a road incident that occurred in Villa MellaSanto Domingo North.
The event occurred on December 30, 2025 in the community of Mata Gordawhen the vehicle driven by Zarzuela López collided with a motorcycle on which they were traveling Nancy Mejia Soto40 years old, and her husband. After the friction, the alleged aggressor would have pursued the occupants of the motorcycle and fired several shots that were fatal for the woman. The victim’s husband was unharmed.
The motorcycle involved was a Taurus 125, red, license plate K2367261while Zarzuela López drove a Nissan Frontier pickup truck, license plate L401114. During the arrest, authorities seized a pistol-type firearm, Ruger brand, 9 mm caliberas well as the vehicle used by the detainee. In addition, technicians from the Scientific Police They collected a 9 mm caliber casing inside the truck.
The detainee will be placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes. The authorities continue with the investigations to fully clarify the facts and guarantee that justice is done in this case that has shocked the community of Villa Mella.
