Santiago.- The National Police arrested Andry Josué Vargas Núñez at the Santiago Airport for being linked to seven homicides and causing injuries to six people in the aforementioned province.
Vargas Núñez, 26, was arrested upon arriving in the country after being deported from the United States, where he had been detained.
The operation was carried out in collaboration with the OCN-INTERPOL Santo Domingo and the Public Ministry.
It was reported that he was actively wanted under arrest warrant number 09810-2022 for his participation in a shooting that left five people dead and six injured in the La Yagüita sector of the Ejido, in November 2022.

The tragic incident occurred during a clandestine party and was the result of a confrontation between criminal gangs.
Within the framework of the investigations, Vargas Núñez has been identified as one of the main suspects along with Carlos José Núñez Díaz “Gambao” and Jean Carlos Cruz Martínez “Coquito”, who have already been brought to justice for their participation in these acts of vandalism. .
Vargas Núñez’s criminal history includes another court order, number 04036-2022, related to the deaths of Armando Ismael Ramírez del Rosario and José Ramón Tavárez, as well as an armed attack in which National Police Sergeant Starlin Jiménez was injured. Mendoza, in the Hard Floor sector of Santiago, in May 2022.
In addition, the police system records two records of assault in January and March 2018, which reinforces its high-risk profile for society.
The detainee will be placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry to respond to justice for the multiple charges against him.
The National Police reiterates that any act of violence will be severely punished with the full force of the law, ensuring that those responsible for these crimes pay for their actions.
