A false surgeon who did not have a qualifying title was arrested while carrying out an intervention in a clandestine surgical center in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Constitución, after the Specialized Fiscal Unit in Environmental Matters (Ufema) requested a general inspection of the property.
It all started when the prosecutor Carlos Rolero Santurión, in charge of Ufema, requested a comprehensive inspection of the property located in Pasco at 1400, in the City of Buenos Aires, where they found a man who performed a surgical practice without authorization and did not have personnel with the corresponding title, reported spokespersons for the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
In addition to those responsible for the place, it was found that the improvised room as an operating room did not have aseptic conditions and three dogs circulated in it.
Also, according to sources, it was found that they dumped the pathogenic residues of the interventions on public roads, without due sanitary control.
The general inspection of the surgical center was carried out by the Body of Judicial Investigators of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Environmental Crimes Division of the Argentine Federal Police, where psychotropic drugs, breast implants, materials with organic remains and sedative material for surgery were seized.
The interim prosecutor Hernán Biglino ordered the arrest of the false doctor, who was accused of the crime of usurpation of title in flagrante delicto, and the place was closed for not having the corresponding authorization and for generating pathogenic waste.
Likewise, according to the secretary of the Ufema, Ricardo Bomparola, the detainee only He had the title of surgical instrumenter, habilitation that does not allow him to perform surgical practices.
In this regard, Alberto Crescenti, head of SAME, informed Télam that the patient who was being operated on at the time the inspection was carried out “was lucid” and was “transferred to Durand Hospital for clinical evaluation around 12.15”.
The case was initiated by complaints from the neighbors, who found pathogenic residues in the domiciliary containers of the public highway, and the investigation was in charge of Ufema together with the Office of Operational Coordination of the Body of Judicial Investigations and the Division of Environmental Crimes of the Federal Police, who verified the operation of the clandestine surgical center.
