Professor Pablo Aure, secretary of the University of Carabobo, regretted that many university professors have to turn to other jobs to earn extra income.
Professor Pablo Aure, secretary of the University of Carabobo, assured that low salaries, loss of rights and non-compliance with labor benefits are some of the main problems faced by teachers in the country.
The statement was made to Radio Fe y Alegría News within the framework of University Professor’s Day which is commemorated on December 5.
He also indicated that the salaries and wages that the university should manage is the Ministry of Popular Power of University Education that manages it directly through the Patria platform.
“The university professor, like the rest of the public employees, is earning a very low salary and is complemented, if you can call it that, with the bonuses that the Government unilaterally agrees to,” he said.

Aure regretted that many university professors have to turn to other jobs to earn extra income.
“Many teachers have to look for themselves offering private classes. Many university employees are night guards or work in a security company that provides services to commercial chains where they are paid $200 a month,” he said.
The secretary of the University of Carabobo and active professor of the Faculty of Legal Sciences invited his colleagues to remain firm in demanding their rights.
