Since Saturday, April 22, rescue groups such as the Search and Rescue Foundation (Funsar) and volunteers Search for the body of a 23-year-old who disappeared in the Negro River in the Salvatierra community, located 20 kilometers from the town of Urubichá and 60 kilometers from the municipality of Ascensión de Guarayos.
Roberto Aeguazu, leader of the “Urubichá” Community Center, informed EL DEBER that the disappeared person, identified as Marcial Sandoval Urapoigui, together with four other young people, they were returning from the Salvatierra community to Urubichá, after doing agricultural work (rice harvesting).
He indicated that when crossing the river by an embankment under water, Marcial slipped and fell being carried away by the water currents. His friends they tried to rescue him, but it was not possible.
“We were crossing in a row, Marcial was the penultimate, when he fell first we waited for him to come out, but when he didn’t come out, we went looking for him and nothing,” he said. Andrés Yaquirena, one of the companions of the 23-year-old, who denied that they had been under alcoholic influences.
24 hours have passed since the disappearance and the intensive search by the two rescue groups has been unsuccessful.
