The Senate approved in first reading the bill that includes in the student curriculum of the Dominican educational system subjects and programs on the prevention and consumption of illicit drugs and their related crimes.
The project, proposed by the senator from San Juan, Félix Bautista, was approved unanimously by the senators present at the session, and contemplates that the subject on the prevention of controlled substances be taught as a mandatory requirement in public and private schools, universities and technical-vocational and professional training institutes.
The congressmen also approved an agreement for the subscription of ordinary capital shares and the incorporation of the Dominican Republic, as a member country, on October 4, 2021, signed between the Dominican Republic and the Andean Development Corporation (CAF).
Also, they sanctioned in first reading the bill that declares May 9 of each year as the Day of the Bioanalyst, an initiative submitted by Senator David Sosa (Dajabón).
In addition, they learned about the project designated by the name of Leida Santana Tiburcio, the Cerro Bohío educational center in the El Mamón section, in the municipal district of Yerba Buena, in the municipality of Hato Mayor; initiative presented by Senator Cristóbal Castillo. In first reading they approved the bill that declares Las Marimantas de Yerba Buena as Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Dominican Nation, proposed by Castillo. Likewise, they sanctioned the bill that designates the Puerto Plata Cable Car with the name of Doctor Joaquín Balaguer Cable Car of Puerto Plata, and the Law that designates with the name of Doctor José Manuel Rodríguez Jiménez, the Santo Socorro Maternal and Child Hospital, in the National District; both proposals presented by Senator Ginette Bournigal de Jiménez.
