This Monday, the creation and approval of the new symbols of the capital city was promulgated, during the Special Session of the Municipal Council, which was headed by the mayor of the Libertador municipality of Caracas, Carmen Melendez.
From the Plaza Bolívar in Caracas, the event was attended by the second vice president of the National Assembly (AN), Vanesa Montero; the head of the Government of Caracas, Nahum Fernández; Councilor Darío Alejandro Vivas, among other important personalities.
At the event, the mayor, Meléndez received the new band of the city of Caracas as a municipal authority, in the company of the community and a group of children representing the Liberator Simón Bolívar and Francisco de Miranda.
In the place, the highest municipal authority stated: “The new symbols vindicate the fulfillment of the dream of our Caracas native and another giant, Francisco de Miranda, who designed our national pavilion together with Lino de Clemente and José de Sata y Bussy; It would be the first commission of the symbols designated by the Congress of July 5, 1811”.
He stressed that in the Bolivarian Nation there is a lot of history that must be told to the next generations, “everything must be written down. The true story so that it is not distorted along the way, we must continue fighting, working and consolidating the transformation”.
Likewise, Meléndez stressed that these new symbols give the right meaning to the times that are to come. “We have that commitment. We have to do a lot for Caracas, this is the prelude to what Caracas will be like in a few years.”
On April 13 of this year, the Municipal Council of Caracas approved the modification of the Coat of Arms, the Anthem and the Flag of the capital city, reported the deputy secretary of the chamber and national coordinator of the Network of Culture of the Movement We Are Venezuela (MSV ), Erika Bernal Echeto.
