The Minister of Government, Eduardo del Castillo, reported this Monday that the Bolivian Police apprehended two people who were sentenced to 30 years in prison for the crimes of femicide and murder, but were benefited with substitute measures and house arrest by former judge Rafael Alcón . Five other sentenced persons who were released are being sought.
“The first of them, Félix Alfredo Ferreira, was sentenced for femicide and rape to 30 years, and the second, Mr. Rubén Centellas, for murder and dismemberment of a woman also to 30 years, however, despite this, he they were on parole due to the unilateral decision of the pitifully well-known Judge Alcón. These two subjects have been recaptured,” he reported at a press conference.

He announced that five other cases with similar characteristics were found in the same court in Alcón, which is why the Police and the Ministry of Government are seeking to find these criminals.
“They will no longer be freed by judicial consortia and also by a consortium of doctors and the different bodies. We are not going to tolerate that judges begin to release femicides, murderers or rapists in the national territory. We are going to find all femicides, rapists and murderers who have benefited from corrupt justice in Bolivia,” Del Castillo warned.
The authority added that after the Judicial Council intervened in the Alcón court, they will continue with the review in each of the criminal action courts in the country, in which information will be investigated and cross-referenced with the Magistracy, Penitentiary Regime , Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) and even in the Plurinational Constitutional Court (TCP).
“We want to know if there are femicides, murderers or rapists in the country who have been sentenced and who are not serving their prison sentence,” he said.
