The director of the ATTT, Carlos Ordoñez, indicated that this initiative seeks to increase the penalties of proven drunkenness, speeding, among others, due to the increase in vehicular collisions due to alcohol consumption in drivers that lead to loss of life. human.
Similarly, he added that in recent months there has been an increase in violations for speeding above the limit.
A report from the ATTT detailed that the use of mobile devices while driving is the main consequence of minor traffic accidents, so it is contemplated that those who incur in this fault receive awareness talks.
According to the director of the DNOT, Fernando Sanjur, the technical table studies modifications to Executive Decree No. 640, emphasizing the retention time of the driver’s license for those who incur penalties for drunkenness and speed.
